Conciliation of Health Complaints

Health Conciliation Registry

What is conciliation?

The Health Conciliation Registry (HCR) was established by the Health Care Complaints Act 1993 (NSW). The HCR is an independent organisation separate from the health professional registration boards and the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC). The Registry cannot accept complaints directly from the public.

Conciliation is an opportunity for the parties to discuss a health care complaint and agree on possible options for a final outcome. A professional conciliator assists the process in a neutral setting

Where can I get more information?
