FAQ: How do I seek a review of the outcome of my complaint?

Answer: If you are dissatisfied with the way your complaint has been assessed, or with the outcome of an investigation, you may seek a review of that decision.

The Health Care Complaints Commission is the appropriate body with which to seek review of an assessment or investigation decision, and a request should be forwarded in writing with any additional information that supports the request.

A request for a review of a matter managed through the Board's programs should be forwarded in writing with any additional information that supports the request to:

The Executive Officer
The Medical Council of New South Wales
PO Box 104
GLADESVILLE NSW 1675

If you have a complaint about the Council's procedures you are encouraged to contact us so we may try to resolve your grievances directly. The NSW Ombudsman handles complaints about agencies such as the Council and the Health Care Complaints Commission.
